Dive Alexander Springs

Let's meetup at 10 am at Alexander Springs and dive. It is a nice park with a big swimming area. Cost is $6.50 to dive, make sure to bring your certification cards. There is a concession stand, but let's bring some munchies to share and have a picnic after the dive.

Thanks Michael, DeAnn, Jessica & Jeremy for another fun day of diving. I'm so blessed to have found dive buddies like you all & am looking forward to many more fun outings in the future. And a HUGE THANK YOU to you Michael for all of your help & instruction in getting me my AOW certification. You're a great teacher & you've got the right knack for not just teaching the skills but making it FUN as well. As for Alexander Springs, like you said Jeremy, it's a very nice place to bring the family on a warm day to picnic, swim & snorkel. (And feed the fish! :)) As a dive location, I rate it as a very good spot for OW checkouts, navigation training (due to its large size), trying out new equipment or for a newbie doing their first post-certification dive w/o an instructor. DeAnn's right that the hike from the loading zone to the picnic area is an awful beast but it is concrete & the park is clean, well-kept, has nice restroom & rinse amenities & most importantly, is VERY CHEAP to get in.

Had a great time with everyone as usual. It was good to meet you Jessica and to have a new diver join the group, I appreciate you driving us down there!! Michael and Stephen thank you for saving my dive trip, I would have spent the day on the bench if it wasn't for you guys!! DeAnn the baby squirrels were awesome, its pretty cool you can take care of them like that. Alexander springs seems like a great place to take the family for some swimming, snorkeling and a BBQ. For diving it was good to do once, but lacked the size and depth of some of the other springs. It did have very clear water, a lot of fish and was a good place to work on some basic skills as well as a few food "experiments."

Good dive, nice time as always with Stephen and Jeremy and enjoyed getting to get to know Jessica better, look forward to many more dives with them all. Got a bit crowded and could have a better drop off for gear for divers but pretty spring with lots of fish.

Sorry N.J. We have scheduling conflicts on Saturday & Sunday. Besides, if you go on Saturday in the summertime it's REALLY packed with swimmers & snorkelers & it's almost impossible to get a picnic table if you're not there by 9am at the latest. You'll have better luck on weekends once school is back in session & we get closer to fall.
