Who are your favorite authors? What are your favorite books?

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Roald Dahl, JM Barrie, Norton Juster, Maurice Sendak, Edward Gorey and Dr. Seuss!!! Doris Kerns Goodwin. Connie Willis, Neil Gaiman, Martin, Zelazny, Heinlein, Gibson, Vonnegut, Douglas Adams and Stan Lee, also Fitzgerald, Miller, Nin, Calvino, Laxness, Hrabal, Bulgakov, Dostoevsky and Joyce. The Little Prince, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Witches, The Phantom Tollbooth, Bridge To Terabithia, Winnie the Pooh, Alice In Wonderland, Peter Pan, Where The Wild Things Are, The Gashleycrumb Tinies, The Lorax and Oh The Places You'll Go! and also classic fairy tales like The Steadfast Tin Soldier and The Boy Who Drew Cats. Sandman, Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy. The Great Gatsby. Catcher In The Rye. Independent People. Blindness. Invisible Cities. The Baron In The Trees. I Served The King of England. Too Loud A Solitude. The Street of Crocodiles. The Master and Margarita, Dubliners. Harry Potter. Ready Player One. Wool. Game of Thrones.

The Desert Island Questions: Which 3 books would you take if you were deserted on an island? Which 3 creature comforts would you want if you were deserted on an island? Upon which island are you deserted - and how did you find yourself to be there?

Rhyming Dictionary, an OED, and the Lonely Planet Travel Guide Collection. My music collection, whiskey, and my own personal sushi chef wind-up robot. I'd likely be on the Island Of Broken Toys; I broke.

What are your favorite adaptations from books you've seen and also read or intend to read? What is the worst? What are your favorite adaptation from the works of Shakespeare?

Seen/Intending To Read - Let The Right One In, The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo; Seen/Read - Game Of Thrones, Doctor Zhivago, Purple Noon (The Talented Mr. Ripley by Patricia Highsmith), Kiss Of The Spider Woman, The Unbearable Lightness Of Being, Henry & June, Breakfast At Tiffany's, Shawshank Redemption, Harry Potter, LOTR, Gene Wilder's Willie Wonka and The Chocolate Factory. Worst: Da Vinci Code (C+ source material to D- List Movie, destroyed my adoration of Audrey Tatou). Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy (I blame Zooey Deschanel). Shakespeare - Romeo and Juliet (1968) and Olivier's Hamlet, also Forbidden Planet (The Tempest)... or if you count Rosenkrantz & Gildenstern Are Dead.

What literary characters would you most like to meet... and what would you do with them? Which deceased author would you most like to meet and why?

Holly Golightly... a glass of champagne and a day in New York. Anais Nin - for her diaries... wine, dinner, Paris. Gatsby... I would attend his funeral. Daenerys Targaryn... I just hope she doesn't kill me, and I'll take what I can get. Neil Gaiman's Death... ??? Harry Potter... would welcome me into Dumbledore's Army. The Dread Pirate Roberts... would make me the next Dread Pirate Roberts. Willie Wonka... a tour, before he gives me the Chocolate Factory. If not Anais Nin, I think I would most want to meet Charles Dickens - because with A Christmas Carol, he reinvented Christmas and made it the best of what it should be today.

As an Amused Reader of N4B, do you promise to behave with kindness and respect towards all members of N4B both in and out of the events of N4B and to honor the spirit of N4B - the good fellowship of a community of readers?

Breadwinner. Nighthawk. Caballero. In addition to books I dig bikram yoga, pinball and card, board and arcade games. I also love food - esp. food trucks, good beer, also great music, awesome people and super superlatives.
