ABOUT CYCLO BELLAS!!! 

Cyclo Bellas is a womens only Road Riding club that is affiliated with the Alberta Bicycle Association. The goal of the club is to provide an inclusive environment where women can ride together: learning new skills, practicing old skills and having fun.

We have a wide range of ages in the group from university students to 55+.  There is also a range of abilities.  The minimum expectation is that you feel comfortable on a road or cyclo cross bike and can ride at a steady pace for 1-1.5 hours.  Usually we leave on a ride and complete a loop on the outskirts of town, either Springbank or Cochrane, distance can be anywhere from 30-90 km.  Ride days are Saturday morning and Wednesday evenings.

We offer a Road riding 101 course to introduce you to the skills and etiquette of riding in a group and on the road but it does not cover some of the more basic skills that would familiarize you with a road bike’s braking and shifting etc if you are not already riding a road bike.  We also offer a basic bike maintenance clinic to our members that includes how to change a flat.

Rides typically leave from 12 Mile Coulee Coop/Springbank Arena/Top of Edworthy Hill/Bragg Creek and will be 1-2 hours long.

Rides will be posted as Meetups and an RSVP will be required so members will know who to expect on the rides. It is each riders responsibility to know the route and the ride.

Please note that it is the club's policy that you must have a standard brake configuration on your bike to participate in group rides.  It is ok to have aerobars on your bike but you cannot use them when riding in a group.  Please refer to the following articles:
