Description:
For the past year and half we—the newsroom dev/design team at the Boston Globe—have been iterating and improving our approach to developing one-off editorial interactives. We'll give you an overview of our process, walk you through our app scaffolding, and show you the ins and outs of creating performant and user-friendly experiences for various projects.

Russell Goldenberg, Newsroom Developer, Boston Globe
Russell works with data and multimedia to create visualizations and interactive stories. He believes homing pigeons are the news carriers of the future.
Gabriel Florit, Newsroom Developer, Boston Globe
Gabriel is a data graphics reporter at the Boston Globe. His previous jobs include writing software to keep track of trains, helping Alaskan legislators file campaign disclosures electronically, and visualizing data for health policy NGOs.
