Kirkland Greenways: Rose Hill Exploration

Kirkland Greenways: Rose Hill Exploration

Details

Come join us for a bike ride along the potential 130th Ave NE/128th Ave NE neighborhood greenway through North and South Rose Hill.

Our ride will start at the Bridle Trails Red Apple Market and head south through South Rose Hill and into North Rose Hill. Join us to see how this route connects the neighborhood business district to parks, schools and adjacent neighborhoods. We will look at what already exists to make this route a candidate to be a greenway and what changes would need to be made to make it even safer for people of all ages and abilities and to make the crossings of arterials safer.

The route is about 6 miles round-trip. This will be a slow paced ride (10 mph or less on level-ground) which is relatively flat (there is one hill but it is not-too-long and we can walk up it) and we will stay together as a group. The ride will only be cancelled if there is steady and heavy rain. Light rain or drizzle will not cancel the ride. Be sure to wear or bring appropriate layers. Meet right in front of the main entrance to Red Apple Market in the Bridle Trails Shopping Center @ 6511 132nd Avenue NE, on the SW corner of NE 70th St and 132nd Ave NE (behind the bowling alley and Dairy Queen). We'll finish at the same location (should take about an hour, including stopping to look at some of the potential Greenway connections). Optional coffee and pastry afterwards. So bring some monies for that. Families welcome!
