Welcome to NSO!


 

We are a group dedicated to natural sports such as caving, rock climbing and rappelling, hiking, camping, SCUBA, and we might even try some hang gliding and skydiving for the ultra adventurous.  We aren't your average meetup group.  Just check out some of our photos and past events.  We don't just talk about doing things.  WE DO THEM!   We have events scheduled anywhere between 2 and 5 times a week!  Our focus is on making new friends, enjoying our beautiful planet, and doing just a little to help it stay that way.  Organizers will bring a couple of trash bags to each event and members will spend just a few minutes to help pick up any litter that we find.  We are not preachy about this but we want to ensure that our group always leaves the places we visit just a little nicer than we found it.  The litter cleanup is NOT what we spend our time doing.  Just a couple minutes.  Mostly we just want to enjoy the great outdoors in the company of like-minded people.  We have lots of meetups planned so jump right in and RSVP any that seem interesting to you.  

 

Be sure to read our discussion boards for information of what kind of equipment to bring, to gain an understanding of our difficulty rating system, and to see valuable tutorials.

 

Every member is encouraged to add events to the event board.  Just about anything goes as long as it's outside.  All we ask is that you try not to overlap another already scheduled event.  If it DOES overlap, please contact a site organizer first to make arrangements.  If you have a trip that you would like but do NOT want to be a group leader/organizer... no problem.  Just post a new event and indicate in the description that you are looking for an organizer.  One of our regular organizers will step up to the challenge whenever possible.
