geek school is for all ages, bring a tablet or laptop computer running Windows, Mac OS X or Linux (Ubuntu or Debian preferred). no prior experience assumed.

geek school is beginner to intermediate, current curriculum is always available at

the goal of the charlotte geek school is to provide basic computing and technology skills foundational to a career in software development, systems administration, computer engineering, or help you excel in any job role or career that depends on technology.

advanced skills development takes extra credit work on your own initiative, though geek school is here to help! if you are already advanced in any area and are interested in mentoring others, please let us know. geeks that take on mentorship of others will be officially recognized in the membership rolls.

come start a new career, hone your skills, explore new technology, learn things you always meant to get to sometime, learn enough to switch careers or improve your ability to contribute in your current work.

upcoming plans include:

  • raspberry pi hands-on (write your own operating system in assembler, pick a project and implement something using a raspberry pi, etc).
