Charlotte Writers

Charlotte Writers meets every 2nd and 4th Saturday, from 11am - 1pm, at Morrison Library in the South Park neighborhood of Charlotte. At each meeting we have in-depth, open-format discussions about the writing of members who have shared their work in advance, and we close most meetings with impromptu readings and discussion from anyone who wants to jump in. We're also open to experimenting with different meeting formats. We're a laid-back group of friendly people with a spectrum of backgrounds, interests, opinions and levels of experience.

We first met in July 2008, and we've met every 2 or 3 weeks since then. We have 10 - 15 participants at each meeting. Many members have attended regularly since the start, and a few new faces appear at each meeting. All writers who can make it to the meetings are welcome. If you plan to attend a meeting, please RSVP.

*** Meetings and online participation are free of charge to anyone who joins the group. However, the group organizer pays fees to Meetup.com every 6 months, and may ask for voluntary, confidential donations around the time that fees are due. No member will be excluded from the group, or receive biased treatment from the group or the organizer, based on whether or not he or she decides to donate.
