This group is coordinated by Big Productions, Inc., as an extension of Chicago Blues Tour™ and Chicago Blues Records™. Members will be informed of excursions to blues hideaways on the south and west side of Chicago, as well as other special events featuring Chicago Blues artists, promoters, and educators. If you love the blues, or if you're just curious, you're a welcome participant to a fun and enriching cultural experience.
Any night we can get 6 or more people who want to make an excursion to a south side or west side blues lounge, Chicago Blues Tour™ will offer discounted tickets that include transportation and drink tickets to Get the Real Blues at the hideaways that made it famous. This is intended not as a replacement for the semi-annual Chicago Blues Tour™ pub crawl events, but as an extension and enhancement to them for people who either can't make it on the pub crawl dates or who want to explore lounges that don't participate on the pub crawls for various reasons.
This means venturing out on nights other than Friday or Saturday, since some of the best sets are on Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday nights, but it's well worth the trip. Chicago Blues Tour™ founder Steve Pasek keeps finding new lounges to explore, and these are the neighborhood places where the blues musicians hang out, so you never know who might end up on stage.
We also plan to occasionally offer guided historical tours which retrace the hallowed ground of Chicago blues, offering context on why Chicago is the world-renowned "home of the blues" and peeks at the myths and legends of Chicago blues, including Chess Records, the Maxwell Street Market, and other sites of historic importance.
Chicago Blues Records™ is a new label whose goal is to promote original blues songwriting and raise the profile of performers who have built a strong following in the blues underground but have flown under the national and international blues radar so far.
