Summer 2010 Classical Events Calendar

Hi, all. And Happy holiday weekend to you all.

Been clicking lots of keys the last few hours to assemble this, and I hope it's useful to all of you.

Below is a link to a calendar which lists (and links to) just about every classical music event happening this summer. For those of you who have MS Word, it will work fine. If you don't, though, go to www.openoffice.org, follow instructions to downlaod & use the word processor. IT IS ABSOLUTELY SAFE, VIRUS FREE, and will open an MS file out there.

To view any info on the particular event, just hold your CTRL button (lower right-hand corner on keyboard for those of you technically challenged) and click your mouse.

There's SOOO Much going on, I figured this was a great way to get you out there and going.

Please take a look. Put ideas under Ideas or Discussion Board. I will be attending the Aug 20 Ravinia performance of Silk Road Ensemble, and will definitely be at the Vivaldi Four Seasons Performance in Millenium Park mid-June. Put votes out there on what you'd like to see so others know. This way, we can start, together, to organize some meetups.

For those of you who expressed an interest in lunch concerts, take a good look. There is plenty out there in the Cultural Center, Millenium Park rehearsals. Also, for you Opera fans, note that WFMT will be broadcasting the[masked] Lyric Opera performances on Saturdays at 12 noon. The calendar shows what performances are playing what days-if you can't get to your radio, stream it live-the website's on the calendar, too.

Okay, I'm off. Been a ridiculous week. Hope your weekend will be less hectic than mine!

Beth

PS-You can always get the calendar on the meetup website. It's under the header "More", then "Documents."
