This group has two purposes: We would like to recruit volunteers and we want to provide a monthly activity for matches already participating in our program.
This meetup group is an opportunity for us to get together once a month and hang out, share ideas, and have fun. We were thinking about organizing a kickball game, a picnic at the park, a beach clean-up day, etc. We are excited about your ideas and we hope to come up with many creative, free activities in our community. This is a great opportunity for current mentors and mentees matches to gather, get to know one another and become friends.
Info for new folks:
The CHS MODEL program is a community based mentoring program for children ages 4-18 who have a parent incarcerated. Mentors take mentees to participate in activities such as, fishing, swimming, kite flying, bowling, skating or biking and many more. Mentoring offers an awesome opportunity to be a role model and establish a rewarding friendship with a child.
