Saludos a todos,

I've hosted this event the last three years and it has been a great success every time so we will be having dinner at our favorite salvadorian restaurant El Curtido at 5:30. We will then walk over and check out the fabulous altars that are presented by the locals in the area. The altars are decorated with flowers, food, fruit, drinks, a piece of clothing they wore, memorabilia from a hobby of theirs and of course candles and sugar skulls. Day of the dead is not an extension of Halloween, day of the dead has been celebrated by native cultures around the globe for many centuries. It is believed that on this day our loved ones come and join us for the celebration! So forget the scary plastic bloody masks this is about celebrating those who have passed on and being alive!

After we visit the altares you are welcome to walk through the Santora art village were the art galleries will be opened to the public, below is a tenative schedule:

5:30pm to 7pm-Dinner at El Curtido
7ish to 9ish-Visit the altares
Art Walk for those who want to continue the night at the art galleries with wine and appetizers.

Regarding parking, it's best to park at a parking structure, there is one that is usually free that is located on 3rd and Birch but because this is a very popular day of the year down there it might cost so make sure you take cash but it's better than the meters on the streets. And please remember to carpool if possible.

*This event is being cross-advertised with the Long Beach Spanish Meetup Group, please only RSVP with one group, thanks*
