We meet the last Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evenings of each month. This event is sponsored by the D.C. Public Library but to get things started we'll try meeting at local bars.

Hey everyone, My name is David, and I am 22 year old recent graduate from American University. I am taking a year off school in order to apply to law school for Fall 2012. I wanted to start this group in order to find others out there who like to read non-fiction books that make you think about the world in a different way, books like "Freakonomics," "Predictably Irrational" and "The Tipping Point." There are a bunch out there that I have already read that I would love to discuss, but I am also …
Ride 2010 with a BANG! - with 100-500 other crazy people. How much fun is that? We'll explore the trails in: http://www.bikewashington.org/ We will also take trips on the road; don't worry, we won't compete with traffic, but there are great road rides in the city that are safe from cars. Depending on the expertise and resilience of our riders we'll do either short (10 miles) or longer (20+ miles); if the group on any given day is large enough I will have two routes to accommodate the long and …

I love food. Cooking it, eating it, talking about it, reading about it, watching shows about it. But I've had trouble finding people around my age in this city who like to make this a part of their daily life AND are looking for friends that are interested in the same. This is a group for those who want to explore all forms of food the DC area has to offer (restaurants, specialty stores, etc.), cook and bake for others, and meet new people in their 20s and early 30s who want to do the same. We c …

Do you listen to new bands but feel too old to go to their shows? Or, do you tend to go but feel weird about being the oldest person there? There are lots of great shows coming to town and there is NO LAW against grayhairs going to live new music. The solution is to go together. We can strategize ways to stay up beyond our bedtimes! All members are welcome to suggest any kind of new music event on AH. The "Hipster" label is entirely tongue-in-cheek. We're not all that strict about the "ag …
Not the best time of year to start a group like this, I know. But I've enjoyed at least trying to grow an interesting mix of plants in my backyard - killing more than a few unfortunate ones along the way - and thought it would be nice to share experiences, ideas, tips with like-minded individuals. If you've done something similar, are thinking about it, or just have a fondness for gardening and landscaping, we'd welcome having you on board. We can discuss yard features such as ponds, streams, re …

Enjoy some olives, cheese, krasi and pita bread, washed down with 3,000 years of unmatched history (or ouzo if you're into cliches)!
We created this group for the love of Bachata and to make a place where all the bachateros and bachateras of the DMV can come together, dance and have a great time.
