Running America: Solon Cinemas / Jimmy Daddana's

Group Organizer
Beachwood, OH
Hi everyone,

We had an excellent turnout for "Waiting for Superman" this past Thursday. The conversation afterward was almost better than the movie. I certainly learned a lot. Thanks to George for scheduling this event and for all the others who were so knowledgeable about our education system.

A Film Unfinished was planned for Friday October 29, however it was moved to Nov. 11 due to changes in schedule at the Cedar Lee. I hope you can make the new date.

In its place, "Running America" is a small film that could make it big was hatched here in Cleveland several years ago. Basically, it follows two men who run about 70 miles a day from New York to San Francisco. Of course, it is more than just running as it allows them to connect with people along the way. It should be quite interesting.

When: Friday, October 29, 2010 6:15 PM
Where: Jimmy Daddana's Fine Italian
6200 Enterprise Pkwy
Solon, OH
(440) 248-2444

Then, on Halloween, the group will be seeing the ultimate B-horror movie, "The Carnival of Souls" at the Cinematheque.

The next day, Nov. 1, while the title "Howl" sounds like a horror film, it is about Allen Ginsberg, a 1960's poet. It stars James Franco. Adrienne is organizing this.

One other event: A group of people are going to see "Nowhere Boy" at the Cedar Lee at 9:35 PM this Monday.

Finally, I noticed that the Cinemark Valley View theater has been designated as "Cinearts". This means that some non-mainstream films could pop up there from time to time. It isn't going to be a Cedar Lee, but just this week, they were showing: Catfish, Nowhere Boy, Superman, Buried and Its Kind of a Funny Story alongside such mainstream treats as Jackass 3D and Devil.

While it is nestled among restaurant chains and big parking lots, it is more convenient for many of our members. If you would like to help schedule some movies here, please let me know.

Fee: $1.50 or $5 for 2010

If the changes affect your plans to attend, please take a moment to update your RSVP. (You can RSVP "No" or "Maybe" as well as "Yes".)
