I find the uproar over this rather interesting, as it exposes the hypocritical, political maneuverings of the pro-life crowd. Mourdock's stance is really the logical conclusion drawn from the pro-life assumption, namely that a fetus is a human life as valid as any of the rest of us who are walking around talking about this. If that's the assumption, than it shouldn't matter where that life came from. I would love to hear so-called moderate pro-lifers explain how rape or incest justifies murder. The fact is that they need to make the rape or incest exception to have a chance with women voters. But it doesn't follow logically from a pro-life stance.
