Atheist parents, you might recall the holiday feature Maude wrote up in Scene last year and that I had mentioned wanting to find other local atheist parents for play dates and discussions. Well, in the time I have in the evenings after my babe goes to bed - well, on the evenings I'm not volunteering for Librivox or doing Zumba or some other exercise - I've been putting together a website for Cleveland Atheist Parents.

Mark was nice enough to let me post through the list-serve to see if anyone was interested in stopping over and maybe helping me get things going. It's a Google site with a ProBoards message board. I've just started fiddling with the message board, so there's not much there yet.

Anyway, if you're interested in checking it out and possibly helping get it going - or just getting together some evening or weekend for a play date - let me know.

I know return you to your regular CFT programming.

The website looks terrific, you're off to a great start Joanna!

I know zilch about building a website but if you need an occasional hand with non-website things I'd be happy to help.

Thank you, Ellen. I'm getting it a little more built up. And, just so everyone knows - I cheated. :) This is a Google site, so there's really no coding or anything. I am capable of building a site from scratch, but, eh, what parent has that kind of time. ;)

Anway, I would love to have some parents to chat with on the forums. That's my main focus at the moment, because I have so many things that have been rattling around in my head. I have a few discussions started, but no one to discuss with!

I actually just got a nice book for my baby called "Lifetimes," and posted a quick review here:

I know - I go right for the throat and start talking about death. :) But, it was one of my biggest challenges (as a lone atheist) when my brother died. Anyway, I can't get on every day, but I've been doing my best to get some stuff posted to the forum. Stop on by!

I thought I'd mention, I was catching up on old podcasts and came across this one that might be of interest to parents:

Thank you, Ellen! I'm anxious to give it a listen. I'll also post it on the CAP website for others. I'm interested in any help I can get gathering things for the site! Thanks, again.
