About LEVEL UP

LEVEL UP is an ongoing series of workshops that focus on honing one specific skill or technique that has application in game development. Want to learn about a specific topic? Consider joining us at 1:00 pm (sharp!) to Level Up!

The 2/20/16 presentation will cover the core concepts of using Playmaker, a visual scripting environment for Unity. We’ll explore concepts and basic mechanics for a simple Side-scroller or Endless Runner. No scripting knowledge required. Core mechanics include: simple physics-based user input, Collision Detection (pickup and damage) and basic Player Manager.

Come prepared: Attendees should bring a computer with the latest version of Unity (5.3.1 at the time of this writing) and the latest version of Playmaker (1.8 beta).

*It is highly recommended that you purchase Playmaker directly through the Unity Assets Store and not from the HutongGames website.
