Excuse to Code & Play

This is a double-feature event! From 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, we are going to run an "Excuse to Code" followed by an "Excuse to Play".

"Excuse To Code" is a casual session where members can come to the Shaker LaunchHouse to work on projects away from distractions. It's a great way to focus on tasks, collaborate with other members and ask others for help or ideas.

"Excuse To Play" is a new casual session where members are encouraged to share what they are working on and actually play games. Members are free to bring in and share anything they want. Summer Game Jam projects, any personal work or projects or maybe even games they've purchased are a few options. I will be bringing my prototype boardgame "Derelict" hoping to find a few brave players willing to play-test it. :) I will also be bringing boardgames (I may have the new Netrunner game by then!) and several game development books on game design, procedural animation and engine design.

This should be a lot of fun! I'm really interested to see what everyone is working on. And I would love to see how people use Unity&Blender now that I am trying it out once again. As always, please let me know if you have any questions. I might order Indian or pizza for dinner as well. If you want to chip in, I can take cash or a credit card.

Very productive and a lot of fun. Working in the vicinity of other developers and getting to discuss various approaches to doing this and that, and just seeing what everyone's working on, is a lot of fun.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
