Hack Android, REST(HAL), and universal clients...

For somewhere in Napier/Hastings/Hawkes Bay over Easter....

Given my interest in REST architectures, and an interest in learning something about Android development, I was thinking a hack fest/codelounge on building some form of native, navigable, Android REST Browser

Usefulm would do it again although problems with Eclipse didn't allow me to contribute much. I think 3 is a good number. Beyond 4 it's probably good to split the group for subprojects or a code challenge

No, no: we're still on! Fabian should be there and maybe a friend of his.
Anybody's got a Quadricopter to play with? :-)

This doesn't affect the actual code lounge tho does it... Still - a pity, could have been fun meeting more HB twits.

Rats, I've just realized the hbtweetup is tomorrow, no good: http://twtvite.com/Easter/1 (For some reason, I thought it was gonna be on the actual Easter day but probably cafes are shut that day)

I'm heading down from Auckland but I'm not sure if I'm heading down tomorrow or Friday, or whether I'm stopping to visit random people on the journey, I'm not returning till late in the week either.

Have you got accomodation? if not, you can bring your sleeping bag and keep coding overnight :-))

Sure, there's room in the studio and also on the deck if it's warm enough!

I'm open to whatever REST framework people would like to try - serval sounds interesting. I'm keen to explore using HAL ( via my HAL client - and maybe porting that to work on Android as well ) for the representation/serialization tho.

I'd like to evaluate Serval from the Rest point of view and build a mesh of Androids! https://github.com/servalproject

Would you use Restlet for Android or would you build on one of your libraries?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
