Hello Group,
This will be the biggest collection of pro dance performers I've seen in Alaska. Join us.
The upcoming AK Salsa Festival. This will take place in 3 weeks, July 22 to 25, 2010 at the Hotel Captain Cook. Four days of dance champions from all over, performing and instructing.
This event features the ESPN Dance Champions, as seen on DANCING WITH THE STARS and instructors that are world famous. Edie the Salsa Freak is the most sought after Salsa instructor in the world. She will be providing a boot camp for anyone who has never danced or are beginners and take them to the next level in this one weekend, faster and with more technique and flavor than any teacher I have ever witnessed.
Shows and classes from the famous:
Bachata Caliente, Leslie Ferrera and Jorge Contreras.
ESPN Salsa Champions, Liz Lira and Cristian Oviedo
Washington Johny Bravo Pro Dance team
Johny Bravo and Christina Walker
Hosted by Edie the Salsa Freak
Guest Host Albert Torres, the largest Salsa Congress promoter in the world
Local Dancers from all over Alaska
DJ ATM from Fairbanks,
DJ Jose from Sabido Latino Movin Radios Show
DJ Reymi and more!!!!
live music with Son Latinos Latin Band
Another, fun dance class that could give you a jump start on the festival is the Progressive Salsa Series at the Alaska Dance Promotions Studio. This is located at Dimond Blvd next to Fed Ex, across from Red Robin Restaurant. 300 East Dimond Blvd Anchorage, AK 99515.
The series is either Monday nights or Wednesday nights. It is only $ 40 per series for the entire month. It's worth it. Very fun and a great way to learn or improve and get in shape. The link to purchase on line is through the ADP Website. Here you go.
Oh and here's another. It's not something I really know anything about but there's a lady who is running her own Zumba program out of the ADP Studio. That looks like some serious fun cardio. WOW!!!
Here's an ad for the studio.
We have a handful of outdoor dance events coming soon too, including the "SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE" competition on July 10, Location G street and 4rth, 12 to 2 Saturday. This should also be great!
Hope to meet up soon.
