Create a C64 Game!

Have you ever wanted to make a game for Commodore 64?

There was never enough time to learn 6502 assembly?

What if I told you that you will make a C64 game on your laptop in one evening ?

We will start from scratch, and learn how to:

• animate characters,
• draw sprites on screen,
• move them using joystick,
• and detect collisions.

We will figure out 6502 assembly along the way. From the very beginning up to self modifying code [sic!].

What you need:

• 1 laptop per person or 2 people (bring your own if you can, if now you'll pair with someone).
• 3 tools installed - follow this guide - https://packagecontrol.io/packages/Kick%20Assembler%20(C64)
• VICE - the C64 emulator
• KickAssembler - the 6502 assembly compiler
• Sublime text with KickAssembler package - the text editor.

Apart from WRITING YOUR FIRST GAME FOR C64!!!!OMG,
we will also have a fun time with drinks and snacks, and watch the best demos on a real C64 during breaks.

This event is for you if you are even vaguely interested in writing games, retro computing or Commodore 64.
