This is a semi-structured group utilizing handouts and homework assignments. Group members are encouraged to set goals for therapy and will be given ample opportunity to assess their progress toward meeting those goals.
In general the overall goals of the group are:
• To understand what codependency is and how it negatively affects us.
• Improve our boundaries by learning how to own our feelings and identify our own needs and wants.
• Increase self-esteem as manifested in improved assertiveness, increased self-nurturing behavior, and decreasing self-critical thoughts.
• Group members will assist each other in helping to identify and begin to appropriately express feelings, in an emotionally safe, nonjudgmental environment.
Cost of the group is $35.00/meeting
Group will held weekly on Tuesdays from 12:00 pm - 1:30 PM. beginning on March 3, 2015 at Common Ground, in the White Room.
***A 30 minute, no charge, “meet and greet” with Susan is required prior to beginning the group. This can be done on the phone or in person at Common Ground.

Susan Faurot MSC, LMFT is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. (CA Lic. # LMFT20800) She ran a successful private practice in Orange county for 21 years and has been working in a department of psychiatry at Kaiser-Permanente for the last 8 years. Susan has extensive experience in working with individuals and couples. She works with people who suffer from anxiety, depression, grief, medical illness, bipolar disorder and trauma. Susan has led groups for people with depression and bipolar disorder, and those dealing with issues of codependency. She is accustomed to using an integrative, mind-body approach to therapy. Susan also leads Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy for Anxiety and Depression programs and Mindfulness and Self Compassion programs.
