Second Saturday Green Lake Walk

A once a month walk around Green Lake. Let's gather on the second Saturday of each month to celebrate Corginess. We can do a lap (or two for those needing to get really tired out) and accumulate our miles to Cardiff. This is a central location and able to accomodate many.  We can gather for coffee before or lunch afterwards, but plan on starting the walk at 10am and spending an hour or two walking.  (extreme weather will cancel, normal Seattle rain - probably not).

ABOUT THE PARK

Green Lake is one of Seattle’s most beloved parks. Its expanse of water and green space in the center of a dense urban neighborhood draws thousands of people daily from all over the city. The park serves as a natural preserve for hundreds of species of trees and plants, as well as numerous birds and waterfowl. The newly reconstructed 2.8-mile path around the lake provides a perfect recreational spot for runners, bikers, skaters and walkers. Many others use the athletic fields or visit the park for boating, picnics and swimming. Also, make sure to visit the Green Lake Small Craft Center.

It's always great to meet and walk with so many other Corgi owners!

I was sorry to miss you all! I walked the wrong way around the lake so didn't end up bumping into the group. :( Next month I will try again!

Budd is recovering well from his surgery, but his oncologist wants to leave the stitches in until Monday and limit his activity, so we're going to skip today's walk :(

Fun walk around the lake. Let's do it again in a month. Thanks for coming out on an unsettled day, but we made it around with out getting wet.

I am hoping that the weather is not too bad in the morning. Please check this site before leaving (heavy rain and winds will cancel). I should post by 9am if cancelling. If not I will be there. By the rowing stands. We will walk counter clockwise around the lake so if you are late you can catch up with us or walk the other way and run into us. I will wait a few minutes but I like to start pretty much on time.
We all walk at different paces and some only go part way around. Find someone you are comfortable walking with at your pace. We do stop and try to regroup but it is hard with such a large group.
Use these meet ups as a way to find others and set up play dates.
If weather is ok and we still have energy I sometimes do another lap or head up into woodland park for more of an adventure.

For those that didn't see my message board posting, Budd is recovering from a splenectomy. However, my family will be in town and Budd should be able to walk for at least the first 15 minutes.

Do you have a wagon or a stroller so you can do the whole thing? Would Budd even go for that? Look forward to seeing you and him.

Are we still meeting at the boathouse area??

Yes, unless somebody knows of some event going on there, meeting near the rowing stands with a large group gives us more space and parking options.
