Join us at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 25th at Chaplins Bar.

We are expecting a special guest - Stephen Kelly. Stephen is originally from Dublin but currently lives and works in Berlin. He contributes to open source projects like CMake, KDE, Qt. Stephen is visiting Dublin on 25th of May and he is happy to take the opportunity to give a talk and to get to know us all, the C++ community in Dublin.

Abstract:

CMake provides "generators" for creating files understood by user tools such as IDEs. In many cases, this provides enough information to build a C++ code model for project files, but provides little information to create an effective model of the cmake code.

However, some tools manage to provide native support for CMake code and offer features such as syntax highlighting, semantic code-completion and other more advanced features such as 'add file to target'.

This talk will examine the status quo and propose a design of new CMake features to make 3rd-party IDE integration easier to maintain, more reliable and more feature-full.

This is informal meeting with open discussions over a beer. Please join us!
