Mini Yarn Wreaths, AKA winter decor that doesn't take forever!

At this Crafty Geek try-a-project session, we'll be getting on the yarn-wrapped wreath bandwagon. We don't want to be here for the next 8 hours, though, so we're gonna do the miniature version- just like the kind Martha Stewart hangs on her door, except small enough that you won't need to go through 4 frustrated interns to get it perfect!

We'll be using this lovely tutorial as our inspiration:

Looks like an easy craft for kids, or gifts for co-workers and the like, or you could hang a bunch of them from the doorway at just the right height that your significant other will bump his/her head every time! :D But seriously, we'll have fun and we'd love to see you here!

My mom had a crocheted Christmas Tree (I'd say about 12 inch tall) that she hung on the wall and it was decorated with old junk jewelry—it was beautiful! She can't remember it, but I have been collecting jewelery to decorate one for ages. Does anyone know how to crochet this tree? It was small thread, not thick yarn.

I don't know how to crochet, but I have seen a GORGEOUS costume jewelry Christmas tree made on a piece of fabric covered cork board.

I wish I could come! These look fun to do, but I am planning on attending the midnight premiere of The Hobbit that night! I will have to check out the tutorial, though. Thanks for posting it! :)

Bummer! I wish you could come too! But the Hobbit is pretty exciting! If you end up making one anyway, you should bring it sometime for show and tell :)

Sounds like fun! If I'm able to make it do I need to bring anything?

If you want to raid your stash for yarn, ribbon, glue, or seasonal decorations of any kind, please feel free! :)

Prob'ly could be used for gift ornaments (since putting a bow on a present isn't enough anymore - anyone else out there use "gift decorations" as Christmas ornaments?).
