You don't need to be a writer, or an artist to join in our fun, feisty, fabulous group. All you need is a sense of humor, a willingness to explore and a longing to have your life be more creative.

Do you long to open doors and windows to creativity? Would you like to find ways to reconnect with your well of imagination, with your passion, your dreams? Then come join us each week as we explore and create.

As the organizer, I am always creating and designing new offerings. We've worked through books such as The Artist's Way, Walking In This World, Stoking The Creative Fires and Marry Your Muse. We've made collages, read poetry, colored, completed all sorts of creative projects. We've quit jobs, changed careers, bought and sold houses, wrote books, made videos, baked cakes and drank a lot of wine and beer. We are a group who laugh and cry together, share and support.

You don't need any experience or credentials to join us. Just a willingness to explore and have fun. Several of the people who come to our gatherings and classes are not members of Meetup so the size of the group is often more than shown on the RSVP list.

Here's a bit of my personal story and experience with creativity.

Back in 1992 my creativity was being held captive by all sorts of things: doubt, fear, exhaustion, lack of support, depression, lack of time, you name it. A friend of mine invited me to join a class that was based on the newly published book by Julia Cameron, 'The Artist's Way.' I began a daily writing practice she called Morning Pages and I must say it truly saved my life, my sanity and my creativity. I have written my way through numerous moves, travel, divorce, interesting relationships, death and all manner of life in between. Writing has been my constant companion along the way.
