After coffee, we will proceed up Miramar (behind the store) to the see the Castle. It is not open to the public but hoping we can get some great shots of it. It was built by the lawyer for the old Ocean Shore railroad. Here is more on the castle:http://www.sammazzafoundation.org/the-castle/history-of-castle/

After we leave the castle, we will head back to Paloma Avenue, across the freeway toward the ocean. When we hit Beach Blvd (it's a one-way street), turn onto Beach Blvd to see the longest fishing pier in the state. We can stop there for some great shots. http://www.pacificapier.com/

Next, we will continue on Beach Blvd. toward Sharp Park Municipal golf course. Near the golf course, there is a levi we can walk on. And we will then head to Mori Point:

Next, it's back to Highway 1 to the old Vallemar railroad station. It's also a restaurant, in case we want to eat there:

We will visit the Don Gaspar de Portola Statue (right at Highway 1):

At this point, we will be near Linda Mar Beach. We can stop there for photos, too:

Left at Linda Mar and down 1 1/2 miles to Sanchez Adobe Historic Site. Learn more here:

Other places we can see, if time permits:

Pedro Point (Highway 1 and Danman Avenue)it's on the levee where the train traveled - unique old house and an old RR station that is now a private home

Shelter Cove (100 steps to access it) near Pedro Point

And search for remnants of the old Ocean Shore Railroad:
