Couple of Slovakian Events, Couple of Scottish Events, The 7th Annual SUMMIT on the State of the International Community in Northeast Ohio and a concert of Russian/Serbian Music.

Slovenian Wine Tasting

Slovenian Museum and Archives, will be hosting a Wine Tasting event. 10 premier Slovenian wines, not normally available here, will be available for tasting and for purchase by the bottle or case. The vineyards represented will be: Kogl, Tilia, Guerila, Crkno, Santomas and Zanut.

Any and all are invited to attend our meetings. You do not have to be Scottish, but must have an interest in our Scottish culture. Judge Todd McKenney will talk on deeds. You may bring your deeds along for him to check and make recommendations. He will be at the library from 2:30 on.

Njegos Choir Fall Concert

Everyone is invited to attend the Njegos Fall Concert on Nov. 10th to begin at 7pm.

 

We are excited with this wonderful program featuring: Folklore dancers, Serbian School youth chorus violin duet by Katarina Knezevic and Maksim Damljanovic. Michael Resanovic on oboe, Holy Trinity Russian Choir of Parma, Russian Male Chorus of Cleveland.

 

Free admission and dinners will be available throughout the evening.

7th Annual SUMMIT on the State of the International Community in Northeast Ohio

You are invited to participate in the 7th Annual SUMMIT on the State of the International Community in Northeast Ohio organized by the International Community Council on Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 8:30 AM to 12:00 NOON at the Ariel International Center. This event is being co-sponsored by Cleveland.People.com, International Services, Center, and WIN-Cleveland.

 

Topics For The Summit: (1) New initiatives as an "International Friendly" region, (2) Eliminating ongoing hate speech and crimes against faith communities, and (3) 2013 International Folk Festival.

 

PANEL: Representatives of the Christian, Jewish, Muslim, SIkh, and other faith communities.

 

WHAT? Opportunities for new dialogue among faith communities, updates from Cleveland.People.com, International Services Center, WIN-Cleveland (Worldwide Intercultural Network), and associated organizations, and networking with international community leaders.

Kirkin' O' The Tartans

St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church.

We gather at the Kirkin' O' The Tartans ceremony and display our tartans to receive God's blessing on the memory of the ancestors and those hardy Scots who crossed the ocean between the old world and the new world to build a better life. Bring your favorite or family tartan in memory of, or in honor of, a special person or group during this special church service. After the service enjoy refreshments and Scottish entertainment.

 

There will be a special message by Fr. Stephen Secaur, Clan MacLaine of Lochbuie. There is no charge for this event. A collection for the church will be taken as part of the service. In addition, there will be a collection of new, comfort-sized fleece throws to be donated to the GriefCare Centers throughout Northeast Ohio. Any donation of the type will be appreciated.

The First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association Branch 618 sponsors this event and will donate a matching amount of $500.00. It is a fundraiser for St. Augustine's Hunger Center. Celebrate with the best of the SLOvenian and POLish music - Wayne Tomsic Band and Ralph Szubski , The Accordion Man And The Party Band.
