Welcome to the CSRA Vegetarian Society!

The CSRA Vegetarian Society (CSRAVS), founded in January 2007, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing resources to local vegetarians/vegans, and education of the community as a whole about vegetarianism, and other plant-based diets. We consist of culturally diverse individuals, and families, who follow vegetarian-based diet (and other plant-based diets), and those interested in the lifestyle as well. We were first organized so local vegetarians/vegans in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) could meet one another, and become familiar with others in the lifestyle. We support vegetarian gatherings, education of the local community about the lifestyle, and members of the community in need. We organize monthly potlucks, meet at local restaurants for dinner, exchange recipes, and share knowledge about grocery stores and other health-oriented information. Our organization is an integral part of the local community and a community-based support group offering lectures, workshops, and participation in annual Meatouts. The CSRAVS is run 100% by volunteers, and is always looking for members who would like to play a more active role in the organization.
