St Patrick's Experienced Cuddlers Party :-D

  • Mar 17, 2013 · 5:30 PM
  • Alison's place

Hey everyone, outside circumstances have conspired to make this a "Veterans-only free Cuddle Party". If you've attended so many Cuddle Parties that the Welcome Circle is like a familiar bedtime story for you, then please RSVP here. If you've never been to Alison's proceed to here:

If you have a Meetup account, please consider a visible RSVP here. As always, visible RSVPs either spiral upward to greatness, or downward to oblivion ("ah heck, why sign up when so few others are going" VS "oh man, this looks great, gotta sign up") I will "+1" on my own RSVP anyone who RSVPs privately.

We will read a "headlines only" version of the Welcome Circle, unless anyone wants to delve into a particular rule.

I will sequester our 3 small animals, do an abbreviated house cleaning, do my best to make sure everyone is shepherded in but... overall my prep will be more hands-off than usual. Feel free to bring friends/fam who are hip to the Cuddle jive. Bring snacks!

Cuddle Party is a non-sexual and sober gathering for grown-ups to share connection, kindness and play. **No one is obliged to cuddle anyone, ever, at a Cuddle Party.** Some are in the middle of the 'puppy pile'. Some sit and observe. Whatever you choose, it's OK. Cuddle Party is a safe forum to learning about one's own touch preferences and needs, learning healthy boundaries and skills, while sharing a fun evening with others.

Read more about Cuddle Party here: (like us!) (here you are!) (national site) (join our e-newsletter)

In the spirit of Cuddle Party, please RSVP 'Yes' or 'No'. (No Maybes). :-) Also in the spirit of Cuddle Party, whatever you RSVP at first, you can change later for any reason at all. :-)

In the spirit of good etiquette, please keep your online RSVP updated. Thank you for your attentiveness! :-)

Cuddle Party is a short workshop in non-sexual touch, boundaries and communication, followed by a couple of hours to put what you’ve learned into practice by enjoying and exploring touch. (Think hugs, foot rubs, back rubs, spooning and just general non-sexual snuggling.)

A trained facilitator gently leads you and the other guests through an orientation, where you’ll learn to make easy, respectful requests and communicate clear boundaries, and where we’ll go over the simple rules. Then you’ll have plenty of time to relax, chat, cuddle, have a snack, or just hang out.

Cuddle Party is a non-sexual event! Everyone remains clothed in pajamas and agrees to the Cuddle Party Rules, which include:

* Arrive on time for the Welcome Circle orientation.
* Ask for what you want and get a verbal “yes” first
* You don’t have to cuddle anyone you don’t want to, or anyone at all, ever.

Some people are already comfortable with touch and can’t wait to be in a place where that’s OK. Others aren’t even sure they want any touch at all, but come to explore some communication skills. Others are just curious about what it might be like. Whatever your reasons, a Cuddle Party is a great playground for discovering more about yourself, for exploring new ways of connecting with others, or simply enjoying a relaxing, cozy evening with other cuddly souls.

Most Cuddle Parties include both women and men, unless otherwise specified (about 10-25 people) and are held at private homes here in Seattle. They last about 3.5 hours. Sometimes we host parties for particular groups, like women only, or seniors, or singles. We charge a modest fee to cover the training, time and responsibilities of our facilitators. Adults only (18 and up).
