May 2012 NY Cultural Tech - Show and Tell @ METRO

  • May 31, 2012 · 7:00 PM

The first of our new series of regular bi-monthly, "Show and Tell" meetups, where members will get 3-5 minutes to present to the NY cultural tech community something cool they are working on. METRO (The Metropolitan New York Library Council) is partnering with us to host this event, so let's give our new venue a warm welcome.

This is a non-formal, quick way to share what you are currently working on, give us some awesome tips or tricks, or show off a tool that allows you to get your work done. This event is participatory in nature, so part of attending is an opportunity to interact with the community.

We ask that you please add your topic to the RSVP as it part of the attendance process.

See you there!

This was a very different meetup. I saw a lot of technology I have never seen before. It was very museum and archive focused with a lot on metadata and taxonomy. Some of the digital storytelling and digital tools were very interesting.

Hi Guys, the event is next week and a good chunk of you still have not added your topic to your RSVP. This event is a participatory event, so we would like EVERYONE who attends to talk at least 2-3 minutes about their work (no full blown presentation needed). So please update your RSVP asap! Thank you!

Great! It Looks like we have a few participants so far and we would really like to encourage the rest of you to think of something that you could speak about briefly. This event is participatory in nature, so its part of attending to jump in and interact with the group by providing something for "show and tell". Dont be shy! :)

If you are not working on project, it would be great if you could still present and just tell the group what type of work you are involved in.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
