Need inspiration? We had a recommendation to dig into the historical character of Saint Valentine. There is plenty to choose from: beheadings, martrydom, secret spy letters and of course courtly love -
"Courtly love began ... at the end of the eleventh century. In essence, courtly love was an experience between erotic desire (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eroticism) and spiritual attainment that now seems contradictory as "a love at once illicit and morally elevating, passionate and disciplined (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discipline), humiliating and exalting, human and transcendent (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transcendence_(philosophy))".[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Courtly_love#cite_note-5)" Wikipedia entry
