Meetup Description: **Note** The meeting time is not 100% certain. Due to scheduling at the center I have to choose now between 6:00-7:30 or 8:00-9:30 from the past experience when the group meet earlier, it is my impression that 6:00 is to early to meet. so I elected to move to the later time. I hope this will work out better for everyone that more people may attend.
Also, Please remember that the Center's door is always locked. There is a bell to the right of the door you must ring for entry.
This months topic: Meditation
It seems that no matter what spiritual path you travel, the topic of meditation comes up repeatedly. Even in the Christian faith Jesus said ?The kingdom of heaven lies within? Or in Psalms ?Be still and know that I am God.
Christ went the the transfiguration, the Buddha did a long time meditation before becoming ?awakened? Even more recently Dr. Usui who re-discovered Reiki did so after a 21 day fast and mediation.
In one of the oldest religions called the Gnostic's, they believe that the point of the true teacher is not to put an idea in the students head, but to draw out of the student the fact that they already know the answer.. essentially to remember that they already know.
Conversations with God says in book 1 when talking about remembering
?Begin by being still. Quiet the outer world, so that the inner world might bring you sight. This in-sight is what you seek, yet you cannot have it while you are so deeply concerned with your outer reality. Seek therefore, to go within as much as possible, and when you are not going withing come from within as you deal with the outside world. Remember this Axiom:
If you do not go within, you go without.
Put it in the first person as you repeat it. To make it more personal:
If I do not
You have been going without all your life. Yet you do not have to, and never did.
There is nothing you cannot be, there is nothing you cannot do. There is nothing you can not have.?
I have found in my own experience that meditation is means of self discovery, and a foundation for transformation.
Join us in March's Topic discussion on meditation.
