Java 8: Under the Hood and New Features in Scala 2.10

We'll cover two topics at our May meetup:

The first part will be about Java 8. This release will bring Java closer to the world of functional programming but how does Java 8 compare to Scala? We'll take a closer look at the implementation of lambda expressions in Java 8, examine the new default methods in Java interfaces and explain (ok, speculate) how they will influence future versions of Scala.

In the second part we'll talk about something that is already available - namely Scala 2.10 and the new features that came with this release.
