Explaination of Class Levels:
Dancing4fun has grown in size this past couple of years. We definitely welcome the growth, but we also realize that specific standards for the classes have to be set, in order for people to have proper expectations , and for the quality of the dance skills of our students to continue to improve . Below is a general description of each level, but understand that this is just a general guideline to help you choose with level class you need to take.
If you have any questions, please let us know..
Level 101 -- Beginner/Novice: - Folks who are absolute and total beginners. In this class we will focus on the fundamentals and basic steps of the particular dance. More importantly we will show you how to connect with you dance partners.
leads/Men: we will show your some importantly leading techniques that will help learn different moves much easier. follows/women: we will also show you how to become a better dancer by teaching you some simple connection techniques to help you be able to dance and decipher his lead better. Don't worry we'll show you some cool moves that you will get to use and have fun with right away! But learning how lead and follow well is essentially when first learning how to dance.
Level 102 -- Experienced/Beginner -- These are folks who have either taken our 101 class before or other dance classes that have demonstrated a decent lead and follow technique and can demostrate that they can execute the moves taught and covered in the 101 level. In this class we will continue to reinforce the fundamental lead and follow technique that we have covered in the 101 level. In addition, we will also add 102 level turn patterns and combinations. At the end of the class you must be able to execute these patterns with relative ease to be able to move on to the next level. One of the suggestions/requirements is for the attendees of this class to go out on several occasions and try out the moves they have learned in a social dance setting.
Level 103 -- Beginner/Intermediate -- These are folks who have either taken our 101 & 102 level classes or have taken other dance classes. You must demonstrated a good level of proficiency in the majority of the patterns taught in the 101/102 level. Most importantly you must demonstrate a proficient lead and follow technique and can dance comfortably in a socially setting. Since at this level you have a good understanding of connection and lead and follow techniques. we will cover some patterns involving Copas and free spins. Once again you must have demonstrated a proficiency in the patterns in the 103 level in the social dance setting to be able to move on to the next level.
Level 104 -- Beginner/Intermediate: -- Must be proficient in lead and follow technique and can execute patterns in the 101 - 103 syllabus with ease. At this level you most likely you have been social dancing for about 2 years if not more.
