Carl Schoonover is a neuroscience PhD candidate at Columbia
University and studies the sense of touch in the Bruno laboratory at Columbia University Medical Center. He is author of Portraits of the Mind, and has written for The New York Times, Le Figaro, and Scientific American. He is also a co-founder of NeuWrite (a collaborative working group for scientists, writers, and those in between) and hosts a radio show on WKCR 89.9FM that focuses on opera, classical music, and their relationship to the brain.
Carl currently lives in New York City. He is a former NSF Graduate Research Fellow and a 2012 TED Fellow:

Paul Nemirovsky is the co-founder and CEO of dMetrics, a decision discovery engine that uses algorithms to analyze hundreds of millions of online conversations in order to identify the decisions and motivations of consumers. dMetrics is a venture-backed, MIT spinoff based on more than thirty years of research and is supported by the National Science Foundation.
Paul holds a Masters & PhD at MIT with a focus on machine learning techniques for the exploration of big data (audio, video, and text) and human-computer interaction. He has published fifteen academic papers in this field and overseen the successful launches of many commercial and academic projects.
