It's been too long since our last meet so we have lots of material for this one. A few of us have just returned from Java Posse Roundup 2012 and will share notes.
At our last meet several members expressed interest in using an OSS project(s) to provide an applied focus to our meets and Jim just independently suggested the same. He'll present his idea for such a project and recruit cohorts.
Also - Dave has added some LiftWeb and HTML5 coolness to his TeeRex project and offered to provide us with an overview.
Hey guys. Check out this mind blowing presentation on immutable/functional data structures [in Scala]--how they remain immutable while not wasting memory--it's worth the hour: http://www.infoq.com/presentati...![]()

My suggestion for project day was inspired by this talk:

Part of the Boston Python user group's growth strategy
is "project days" where people get together to work on a variety
of projects. The project days feature experts helping
newbies get started on their projects.
I'm most interested in discussing how we might put together
a scala project day to grow the group and help newbies like me get started.
