Holiday Lights Hike - Bethesda to Forest Glen

This is a long weekend, so we'll see what the weather forecast is as the date draws nearer.

We'll walk in the evening from Bethesda Metro station to the holiday light display at the Mormon Temple in Kensington.  Then we'll walk to the Forest Glen Metro Station.  Those who would like can have some dinner at Pacci's Trattoria off Forest Glen Rd.

I scouted out the route on Saturday, and overall, it is about 6 miles from Bethesda to Forest Glen.  The first leg is 4 miles from the Bethesda Metro to the Mormon Temple.  The light display starts at 6:00 pm.  We'll spend at least a half hour there I think, before we re-group.  It is 1 mile to Pacci's Trattoria, by way of the historic National Park Seminary.  From the restaurant to the Metro is another mile.  So, if you don't stop for food and drink, the hike will last about 3 hours.

I posted a route map that you can print, in the photos section.

I'm sorry I rescheduled to a day later because I was the only one who showed up on Sunday. I posted some photos of the lights to share.

Unfortunately I am under the weather and won't be able to make it tonight regardless of the weather. Looks like a great walk, though.

I will check back to see if you guys reschedule and I will see how I am feeling tomorrow.
