PouchDB (http://pouchdb.com/) and Backbone.js (http://backbonejs.org/)! Come see the marsupialian stack in action.

We'll be walking through the basics of how you can use PouchDB for an offline first approach to javascript apps with Backbone.js.

Topics we'll touch on: document oriented databases, queries and optimization, online/offline, data synchronization, Backbone-style single page apps.

Who: All levels of developers welcome from beginners to non-beginners.

Where: In the middle of beautiful Chinatown, DC with lots of entertainment and amenities nearby.

What exactly: PouchDB is a database written in Javascript that is largely based on CouchDB. It runs in the browser and in node. Backbone.js is a light framework for making Javascript applications. It is as the name suggests, a backbone, you supply the meat and indeed even the ribs.

When: 7pm, the room is booked so we should try to start on time so we can leave room for questions and discussion.

Style: We love questions and discussion. We'll do some quick walkthrough and demo, contextualize the problems and solutions and jump start the real fun, talking to each other.
