SFS and Denhac Present: Windows for Nerds - Linux Fundamentals

  • May 4, 2013 · 10:00 AM

Celebrate Star Wars Day by joining the Rebellion.

Imagine that you can collect up pictures of your favorite artists' paintings, copies of your favorite musicians' songs, add your own personal touches, and distribute the final product to your friends, legally. Imagine that Wikipedia is just one of many ways to present the same articles and information. Imagine that you can write better versions of cool programs, and make your living from them, without getting sued. What you've imagined is the way Linux works. Is it time for you to make it personal?

David L. Willson is a systems engineer, IT teacher, and freedom zealot. The SFS is a school he's building with his friends. SFS probably stands for Software Freedom School.

I promise that this will be very little like public school. More like an electronics shop class, if it were run by a dozen maniacs and no department head.

Internally, I call this event "AGHI2 Linux", where AGHI2 is short for "A Gentle Hands-on Introduction to ..."

Wow. I didn't know I didn't belong to this meetup. Snuck up on me. I wonder if this WIN-Linux meeting will be cross posted to other Linux or Linux friendly groups and MeetUp groups?

I have announced this event to the Boulder LUG, CLUE Denver, to my SFS ML (of course), and Jane has covered the DenHac.
