Ansible is a CM/Automation platform that is growing in popularity and replacing Puppet in some places.

Expectations blurb for the class:

I’ll be presenting a coherent use of ansible to deploy and maintain the baseline configuration of a small to medium size server complex using the ad hoc, simple playbook and role based techniques.

The courseware has been designed using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. If you choose to use another linux you may have to adapt some of the instructions for your specific case. The server complex will be emulated using Docker containers on the local server.

The prepared student will bring a laptop or other system running a recent version of linux capable of running Docker, python 2.7, ssh, and sshd.
