Greetings Russian Speakers!

My name is Lindsey and I am (for now) the new organizer of the Denver Russian Language Meetup Group. Our past organizer Chuck has decided to step down since he will be moving away, but a big thanks to Chuck for all his efforts!

I volunteered to be the organizer since I didn?t want to see the group disappear. However, I?d like to have some input from the rest of the group. I travel a lot for work and won?t be available to attend every meetup. Is there anyone interested in being a co-organizer? I?d love to have some people willing to organize beginning, intermediate, and advanced groups. Please let me know if you are interested.

We officially have 151 members, but it seems like only a few people are attending the meetups. I?d like suggestions on what will help get more of you to come to the meetups- a better time or location? A different meeting format? Is it best to have meetups every week or every two weeks? I will start a discussion on the forums page where people can post there comments and ideas. Please provide your input here:http://www.meetup.com/denverRU/messages/boards/thread/9552989#[masked]. Finally, if anyone has suggestions on meeting locations please pass them on. LoDo seems to get a bit crazy during the summer months, especially during baseball season.

Finally- the meetup website actually charges a fee for forming a meetup group- about $150 a year. It would be great if the membership could help cover this cost. If we have 150 members, each member would only have to contribute $1 and we?d be all set! I am going to set up a donation link where you can submit money online. Any extra revenue collected will of course go to future meetup fees or to cover expenses for the group. Please consider contributing a few dollars.
