About Living Ink Technologies:
At Living Ink we transform algae into into sustainable ink. We are released our first product on Kickstarter, which is the world's first time-lapse ink that literally grows when exposed to light. We have loaded pens so that anyone can use Living Ink for time-lapse art and communication.

About Scott:
Previous to Living Ink, Scott spent the last 10 years in the algae bioproducts industry, where he led research and development projects in both industry and academia. His research was directed at understanding the scale-up process in algae cultivation for biofuels and bioproducts. Beyond his own research, Scott has mentored numerous students, including a high school student who won the Intel Science Talent Search in 2013. Prior to graduate school, in 2008, he was laboratory manager who did product and business development for an algae bioproducts venture that raised $17 M.
His interest in biotechnology emerged from experiences as an undergraduate research assistant, whereas his curiosity for marine biology originated while teaching sailing at kids summer camps on both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. Outside of work, Scott enjoys fishing, reading, playing soccer and traveling with his wife and one year old.
Scott was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow throughout his Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from Colorado State University, and earned a B.S. from Michigan State University.
