5th Annual Fountain Valley Summerfest
is going to the dogs again,
as Dog Day Afternoon is Back!

Calling All Parents and Paws, Grab Your Friends and Family and Come On Out to the 2nd Annual Dog Day Afternoon at Fountain Valley Summerfest. This is Fountain Valley's 5th Anniversary for Summerfest and it's going to be terrific. As always, Parking and Admission is FREE!
Dog Day Afternoon was a Pawmazing success last year, it was Pawtastic. Here's a brief video from last year's Summerfest and Dog Day Afternoon so you can see all there is to do! Special Recognition to PCTAtv for their video.
This year we are very excited to have some of the same crowd favorite activities back, as well as some new activities too. There will be a full agility course for everyone to utilize as well as agility demonstrations from Intelligent Agility throughout the day.
For the first time ever at Summerfest Dog Day Afternoon there will be an amazing Lure Course for all the dogs to try out thanks to Intelligent Agility. If you haven't seen lure coursing before you're in for a treat as the dogs turn on their afterburners and really fly around the course. Here's a video to watch of lure coursing, but please note there will be no obstacles or water hazard at Dog Day Afternoon.
There will also be Small Dog Off-Leash Play Area, as O.C. Yorkies have decided to come out and join in the fun of Dog Day Afternoon. Yep, that's right we are fencing in an area for all the small dogs to run around safely and enjoy themselves. We'll also have some of the top vendors and exhibitors in the pet industry once again, so you can see all their fantastic products as well as what's new, up close and personal.

There will also be a Dog Costume Contest which will be themed around Independence Day. What better way to start getting geared up to Celebrate Our Nation's Birthday, than to see all the cute dogs sporting their versions of Uncle Sam, Statue of Liberty and of course Old Glory Red, White and Blue.
You can make a costume, a float, or anything you think will excite the judges and the audience. Final judging will take place at the main stage area at approximately 6:00 P.M. Winner will receive a great prize and be named Top Dog Day Afternoon Costume Contest Winner for 2013! To register for the Costume Contest please go to the Dog Day Afternoon Info Booth at the event. Registration will begin at Noon and end at 4:00 P.M.
As always, no Dog Club Event would be complete without adoptable dogs, so if you're looking for a new best friend, come out and meet some of the rescued dogs available for adoption from Southern California's Best Non-Profit Dog Rescues.
Summerfest will still have all the music, fair food, carnival rides, midway games, beer, wine and margarita garden, Classic Car and Truck Show on Saturday, June 29th and a whole lot more. There's even a Special Surprise the Summerfest Committee is planning for this their 5th Anniversary. You're not going to want to miss out on that.
