The Dharma Meetup Group meets regularly to discuss the keys to enlightenment that are available through our Body, Spirit and Mind. Through group talks and workshops, members share their insights and discover the path to enlightenment that is available to all of us.
If you've ever wondered how to find lasting happiness, how healing works or how to attain enlightenment, then we would love for you to join our lively and insightful discussions. And if you haven't yet begun to ask these questions or just want to learn more, then we would love for you to join us too.
Each meetup is facilitated by Darwin Stephenson, author of the Inspiration Divine (ISBN: 0-9799721-0-8). While Darwin's insights guide our discussions, every attendee's opinion and perspective is valued, considered and discussed. Our vision is that through the enlightenment of Humanity, mankind will transcend from a physical existence to a Spiritual existence. As such, every member of the human race has something to contribute and much to learn from one another. This evolutionary process is often discussed from a biological as well as Spiritual perspective.
While this Meetup is centered in San Francisco, we try and hold meetings in different communities around the Bay Area. If you would like to host a Dharma Meetup in your home town or office, please contact one of our administrators. Our hope is that we can connect with more people by moving our meetups to many communities.
Most of our Meetups are free, but from time to time we conduct workshops that have small fees to cover any costs associated with the workshop. If you have a financial constraint that makes it difficult for you to pay for a workshop, please contact us and we'll find a way for you to attend.
The Dharma Meetup is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious belief system (e.g. Spiritualism, Christianity, Scientology, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, etc.). As such, all religious beliefs are welcome and we only ask that you respect the alternative beliefs of other attendees.
Although practices such as prayer, meditation, and yoga will be discussed and recommended, each attendee is left to find their own path.
Question: What does Dharma mean?
Answer: Dharma is presented as a central concept that is used in order to explain the "higher truth" or ultimate reality of the universe.
Question: Do I have to talk or can I just come and listen?
Answer: You're free to participate as much as you feel comfortable. You won't feel obliged to contribute but we welcome your insight.
Question: Will I be lost if I don't attend every Meetup or are the meetings unique?
Answer: Every meeting is unique and often tailored to the attendees present. As such, there isn't anything sequential to the discussions.
Question: I would like to come and speak to your Meetup's attendees. Do you welcome outside speakers?
Answer: Absolutely, please contact one of our administrators with an overview of what you would like to talk about and we'll consider your speaking request.
