Explore the Lights and History of Sin City (4-day photo tour)

In this workshop, we'll travel to Las Vegas, NV, to explore creative photographic techniques in an amazing setting of light and desert landscapes. We'll be focusing on twilight/night photography, creative long exposures, HDR, and also infrared imaging. Along the way, you'll not only learn these techniques but get creative feedback on your images from your two instructors. We've also scheduled a special private shoot at the amazing Neon Museum Boneyard at night. They say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but you'll return from this adventure with a lot of amazing images and newfound knowledge about photography!
Locations Include:
• Las Vegas Strip, architecture, lights, and fountains
• Fremont Street Experience, street art and Downtown Container Park
• Neon Museum (http://www.neonmuseum.org/) Boneyard Private Nighttime Shoot with tripod access (the general public is not allowed to use tripods or carry camera bags; we've arranged special access)
• Nelson Ghost Town (http://www.ghosttowns.com/states/nv/nelson.html): An old mining town with lots of cars, buildings, and other derelict subjects to photograph. Perfect for HDR, black & white, and infrared!

Itinerary (Subject to modification)
• Thursday, October 23: Orientation & Overview
Meet at 9am for orientation and classroom session.
Afternoon and evening shooting on Las Vegas Boulevard (The Strip).
• Friday, Oct 24: Assignment: Blue Hour & Long Exposures
Afternoon and evening shooting of the High Roller ferris wheel and the surrounding areas of the Las Vegas Strip.
• Saturday, Oct 25: Assignment: HDR & MonochromeSpecial Topic: Infrared Photography
Day Trip to the Nelson Ghost Town, where we will explore HDR, monochrome, and (optional) infrared photography.
• Sunday, Oct 26: Assignment: Long Exposures
Morning image review and critiques with Jason & Deborah.Special topic: Creating cinemagraphs
Evening shooting at Fremont Street, followed by special private night photography and light-painting session at the Neon Museum Boneyard.

Workshop Tuition
The workshop tuition is $1299 per photographer.
This fee covers all classroom and field instruction, private access to the Neon Museum, shooting fees at Nelson, and image critique during and after the workshop. After the workshop is over, each student will receive a personalized image critique from Jason and Deborah.
The workshop fee does not include meals, lodging, or field transportation.
Group Hotel
We will be staying at the Aliante Hotel and Casino (http://www.aliantegaming.com/) in North Las Vegas, a very comfortable location with a fabulous pool and many restaurants.
