When: Thursday, February 21, 6:30 PM

Meeting Description: Hi Everyone --

I realize this is a bit short notice, but there's an event happening that I'm not sure any of us will want to miss, especially if you also dabble in web development, etc. PANMA (the Philadelphia Area New Media Association) is having an educational event, "Delivering Your Video on the Web", which is certain to be an excellent presentation on the preparation, conversion, and integration of web video, no doubt in complete detail.

Here's their writeup about it:

Join us for our first PANMA 2008 learning event where we?ll dive deep into Video on the Web and provide you with what you need to know to get started.

Introduction to Digital Compression & Video Formats - During this presentation we?ll discuss video compression, the best formats, how to compress your content for optimal playback, delivery and how to prepare you audience for viewing content. We?ll also discuss and prep you with information about using mobile devices including Windows Mobile, iPhones, iPods and 3rd party devices. We?ll discuss and demonstrate free, shareware and full blown applications for optimizing your content for the best playback on the web and mobile devices. By the end of this presentation you?ll understand the software tools to prepare your content for delivery today and into the future.

Marketing, Selling & Educating Your Audience with Video on the Web We?ll look at several examples and discuss how they were built and explore their impact. You?ll learn how you can get started utilizing video on the web to reach your audience. We?ll also dive into two new areas ? Blogging with Video, and several web-based tools for delivering your video for free. Finally, we?ll even discuss how you can make money from your content.

Admission is available to anyone in the public with an interest.

BUT HERE"S THE TRICKY PART: In addition to RSVP'ing here at Meetup, PANMA is requesting that you also RSVP at So please be sure to RSVP both places, so that way we know how many people are coming from our Meetup group, AND they get a reasonable head count.

Any questions, please feel free to email me at [address removed].

I look forward to seeing you there!
