Event Description: This will be something special, a traditional Dim Sum Brunch arranged by one of our members, Zamas, who is very knowledgeable on Dim Sum. He will lead/advise us and has recommended going to Ocean City. The restaurant can also hold a larger group. This should be great!
Ocean City in Chinatown specializes in Hong Kong-style cuisine. Hong Kong style is a fairly new addition to Chinatown, becoming more popular when many Hong Kong residents moved here at the end of the British lease on that Chinese city. They also serve a traditional Chinese Dim Sum lunch. The atmosphere is casually elegant; this is rare in Chinatown, where the quality of the food is not usually matched by attention to the surroundings. Banquet facilities are available for up to 500.
Elegant but lively, this Hong Kong-style dim sum hall has vaulted ceilings, a giant flat-screen TV and a bustling crowd. The only drawback is that cart service can be slow and on the inattentive side. Known for its seafood banquets. Ocean City also serves a fine sesame ball with red bean paste, puffy noodles with long beans and bean sprout threads, plus thick slices of creamy steamed turnip cake with the smoky kiss of pork. Open daily, 11 a.m.-1:30 a.m.
