Hi rock and indie meetup members,

This is Jennifer K.  I saw a bunch of shows coming up this week and later on, and I was wondering if any of you also enjoy these artists and might be interested in joining me.  I will try to post ticket details if I can.

1. a) Fri, Aug 8: Wonderous Stories (classic rock/ proggy tribute band)  FREE
at Jones Beach BANDSHELL (not the arena) performing the WHO'S TOMMY + more
Don't know if any of you have cars, and/or are interested in trekking to Long Island
I'm not sure if there's a site that plays their music (unsure if they have myspace), but I have heard their songs
and they are good!  Here are some details:  http://www.wonderous-stories.com/v2/band.php
       http://www.jonesbeachevents.com/     http://www.jonesbeachevents.com/calendar.htm

   b) Fri, Aug 15: Blind Robbery, Raposo, and Who's Next Who tribute band
FREE at Jones Beach BANDSHELL (not the arena)    http://www.jonesbeachevents.com/     http://www.jonesbeachevents.com/calendar.htm
http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=3585651  Blind Robbery and their music
       http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=3584751  Raposo and their music

   c) Yes, I do like the Who also- as a side note if anyone is interested in the Who at NJ's IZOD this Oct/Nov (did tix go on sale already?) let me know

2. Sat, Aug 30: Richard Marx at Highline Ballroom $35 with Matt Scannell of Vertical Horizon  http://highlineballroom.com/bio.php?id=599
I guess he's kind of a guilty pleasure, but you've gotta admit he's a talented singer/songwriter, plus I was too young to see him
when he was in the top 40!    I've never been to Highline, but it seems that if you don't sit at a table, there isn't a $10 drink min.

3. Tues, Sept 30 or Wed Oct 1: Ben Folds at Terminal 5, $40
I am considering doing the ticket PRESALE which would mean I need to do it and
preorder his album by THURS AUG 7!  So if you want to get in on a presale, you must let me know ASAP!
Otherwise we can just do the general sale.  I don't know how Terminal 5 is as a venue (I think it's standing room), but it's been a couple of years since I've seen
Ben Folds and he always puts on an entertaining show, whether you prefer his BF5 or solo material.  His new album will just have come out, so there should be
some new tunes! I think one new song, plus his some of the back catalogue, can be heard at his myspace:

Thanks for reading- I hope to get some replies, so if you are interested, let me know!
