Announcing a new Meetup for django-district!

What: Django hack night

When: Thursday, July 15,[masked]:00 PM

Where:
Library of Congress - National Digital Library Learning Center
James Madison Building 101 Independence Avenue, SE
Washington, DC 20540

Rather than a presentation, this night will be focused on actual coding. Feel free to bring an open-source project you'd like to interest other people in. Otherwise, since there was a fair amount of interest at the last meetup, we're going to work on two areas related to the Django admin area:

1. Helping improve the shortcomings we've all noticed working on our projects: for example, I'm going to start with updating the patch for http://code.djangoproject.com/ticket/6183 to apply cleanly against Django 1.2. This would be a great place to start if you haven't contributed much back to a large project before and want to go through the process of finding a bug which needs a patch, improving an existing one or adding some tests.

2. Collecting some common admin extensions we've all been rewriting into a reusable project: custom filter specs, date-style hierarchal navigation based on other attributes, etc. If you've been reusing some snippets of code on multiple projects, feel free to bring them so we can discuss how to make them broadly reusable.
